Dr. Adam Sattler, male therapist specializing in individual therapy for relationship difficulties, trauma, and men's issues.

Have you ever had that moment when you're standing at the mirror, staring at yourself and you wonder, “how did I get here?

You’re struggling in your relationships. You often feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and unsatisfied in your relationships with others. Overall, you struggle to form deep, authentic connections. Within your closest relationships, you often feel like you’re disappointing others; on the other hand, you’re pretty sure you’re not getting much of what you want either. You don’t have much confidence when it comes to “opening up” or “being vulnerable,” and you rarely say what’s really on your mind. You’re afraid of being judged or upsetting others. When you do finally speak up, it often doesn’t go well—you either get angry, blow up and leave others hurt, or you walk away feeling completely unheard.

You’re extremely hard on yourself. You’ve become your own worst enemy. You have impossibly high standards for yourself. You’re quick to beat yourself up when you don’t meet these expectations, and even when you do accomplish something, you refuse to give yourself credit. Either you got “lucky” or something that has nothing to do with you is responsible for your success. You might work too much, but it feels impossible to give yourself time to slow down and take a break.

You cope with your difficulties in unhealthy ways. Whether you’re feeling depressed, anxious, stressed, or just “off,” you’re not really sure what to do about it. You don’t have many coping skills, so instead you turn to things like overusing substances, self-soothing with food, socially isolating/shutting down, exercising too much, or zoning out on television and social media.

If you’re experiencing any of this, I’m glad you made it here.

Dr. Adam Sattler, male psychologist

Hi, I’m Adam.

I’m a clinical psychologist, and I help growth-minded men and women build healthier, more fulfilling lives by becoming more in tune with themselves and others.

Therapy with me goes deeper than just “talking about feelings,” and we’ll go far beyond learning tips and tricks to simply manage your mental health symptoms. We’ll take the time to explore and clarify what’s most important to you, and we’ll use these values like a compass to guide us in our work together. We’ll discover the roots of your difficulties so that we can understand exactly where and why you’re struggling, and use science-based methods to overcome these challenges so that you can create deep, meaningful change in the here and now.

Make no mistake— therapy can be intense and challenging, but if you’re ready to put in the work and make the changes that will bring you closer to the life you want, I’ll be right there with you to help as we navigate the process together.
